Maria Hoad

My name is Maria Hoad and I currently have over 30 year’s experience playing and coaching representative netball across all levels.

I was very fortunate to be invited to come on board as a Trainee Coach with the Hunter Academy of Sport and through the Academy I was able to obtain my Level 1 Coaching Accreditation in 2003 and my Advanced Coaching Accreditation in 2008. I have been Head Coach of Hunter Academy of Sport for 3 years now.

I have coached representative netball teams from the 12’s to the 21’s, winning State and Regional Championships. I’ve worked as a selector for Netball NSW for 8 years and as a Netball Development Officer with the Australian Sports Commission for 5 years. Most recently I coached the Central Coast Heart Metro League team and this year coached the Premier League 20’s team.

Over many years I have learned the importance of understanding players and how to teach them new skills. Having the opportunity to help mould talented players to become a great team is exciting. I am so privileged to do what I love. My vision is to help players be the best they can be in a Team Environment and to enjoy their time on court and at training.

I am thrilled to be aligned with Pivot Netball Academy and strongly believe Pivot provides an amazing opportunity for players to develop, improve and achieve their goals in netball.
